Heroes

There are many, many heroes on the day and the days following, I wish I could name every one of them personally. Colin Dunlop, Martin Lindley and Mr Littlewood (their father/father in law) deserve a special mention, for jumping into the river without a second thought, and Mr Littlewood, for tirelessly trying to resuscitating the kids on the bank.

Other heroes include the Firemen, Ambulance Crews and Ambucopter Crew. Also the Ladies and Gents at Lincoln County, Boston’s Pilgrim, Leicester’s Royal and Glenfield hospitals. Everyone of them worked their fingers to the bone to try and save my babies, we will never be able to thank you enough.  I know you all get paid for what you do, and don’t expect thanks (as I kept getting told), but at a time like that, knowing that everyone is working their hardest is some comfort.

The term “hero” can fall to so many more people as well. Friends, family, the DTC, the Land Rover Community, the local community, people nationally, as well as internationally. Counsellors, Police Press Liason, Family Liason Officers, Inspector Ball and his Crew, all the Police men & women who helped make the funeral go so smoothly. Wally, for taking care of the extra security (thanks Clive & Dave) and liasing with Inpector Ball. Dave again for help with the catering (as well as everyone who made the food up). Helen for the “Waterbugs and Dragonflies” reading. Malcolm for a very respectful service, and his continued support. Richard Adelsee for the the arrangements and undertaking. A BIG mention to Pete Brew, who has the biggest ..... courage .... of any man I know, for his rendition of “Amazing Grace”, absolutely beautiful!
